The main purpose of Freight Control is to support the financial management of shipping owners and companies. This is based on three specific functions:
• Freight Control gives shipping owners and companies insight of market information concerning present barge freight rates for transportation of oil products within ARA-area, several destinations along the Rhine and the applicable fuel costs;
• Freight Control calculates profit margins from offered and finished assignments based on a clear revenue and cost analysis for a specific trip; and
• Freight Control assists shipping owners and companies with gaining knowledge about the financial performance of a ship or fleet during a certain period.
